Welcome New Members....

My goal as the New York State Director for USSSA Baseball is to be a personal advocate for all the teams that join USSSA and bring creditable leagues and tournaments to the ‘downstate’ or eastern part of New York State as defined by USSSA.  As I have been involved with youth baseball (ages 17U ~ 7U) for many years and in many capacities; both on and off the field as well as setting up and establishing organizations, tournaments and leagues.  My area of focus in New York State will be east of the Utica area, from the Canadian boarder down to NYC and LI.  I will be segregating that area into 5 regions; Adirondack, Capital District, Hudson Valley, NYC, and Long Island.  My goal over time will be to establish leagues and tournaments in those areas so that teams can play competitively, using the USSSA classification guidelines; Major, AAA, AA, A, that I would personally administer.  Again, over time, I would develop All-Star teams from each region and have ‘region wars’ etc. and ultimately state championships.  These teams would have full access to the USSSA national database of tournaments and again I would be an advocate for the top teams, positioning them for the better national level tournaments.  Aside from all this, USSSA has partnered with ABR, Amateur Baseball Report (www.amateurbaseballreport.com) and the BaseballClearingHouse (www.baseballclearinghouse.net) and I will be involved in scouting combine’s as well as USSSA sanctioned tournaments.
